MM: How would you describe your band?
7th Nemesis: As an Extreme Metal band. We just do not like categorization, 7th Nemesis draws its inspiration in many styles, extreme or not, Metal or not. We usually say that our music is a delicate blend of Death Metal's brutality, Black Metal's emotional torture and 70's psychedelic tunes.

MM: What other projects where you in before you formed 7th Nemesis?
7th Nemesis: Well, Alex and Xavier played in the deceased Inward Mind before and Mat and Sargon played in many underground bands. Actually, 7th Nemesis was born after the split of Sarganas, a Black/Death Metal project, where Mat and Sargon that playing in. Alex and Andrew and later Xavier joined them to form what 7th Nemesis is now.

MM: Where did the name 7th Nemesis originate from?
7th Nemesis: Well, in Greek mythology, Nemesis is the goddess of divine justice and vengeance. Her anger is directed toward human transgression of the natural, right order of things and of the arrogance causing it. Nemesis pursues the insolent and the wicked with inflexible vengeance. It also means a vengeful opponent and an implacable punishment. The 7th is a direct allusion to the octave law, which represents universality to us. The 7th note (B) that is, as each note, an impulse is the ultimate one before the return of the C (the original one). Thus, the 7th note is the ultimate impulse leading to the return to the original note as well as the 7th Nemesis is the ultimate punishment, vengeance or disaster leading to the return to the origins. As Nemesis also represents the opponent, the enemy, this impulse or advent shall only come through adversity and by a founding violence. This can be considered as an apocalyptical vision or an allusion to Nietzsche's "eternal recurrence" or to Marx's vision of history, etc. Whatever, this name perfectly represents what shall be the band's major topics in the future.

MM: How well is your promo doing around the world?
7th Nemesis: Quite nice really, we didn't expect such enthusiasm for our work but it seems that our music really appeals to many. According to many reviews, we bring something refreshing. Anyway promotion has just begun so we'll see how it will go on in the future.

MM: What sort of reaction have you been given at your recent gigs?
7th Nemesis: We haven't played live yet. The first gigs should be scheduled for early 2003.

MM: What are your ambitions now for the future?
7th Nemesis: Release our debut album "Violentia Imperatrix Mundi" through a label and tour as much as possible.
